Hindi ad copy generator · हिन्दी

Hindi ads reach the largest single-language audience in India, from metro Delhi to tier-2 and tier-3 towns across the Hindi belt. The everyday Hindi people actually type on their phones is often mixed with English, so the most natural ad copy sits somewhere between textbook Hindi and Hinglish.

Writing Hindi ads that read naturally

  • Natural Hinglish code-mixing is normal in Hindi social ads: product words like “COD”, “exchange”, “beginners” or “workout” often read better in English than in formal Hindi coinages. The examples here mix deliberately.
  • Use आप for customers in most categories; तुम can feel friendly for youth fashion or gaming but may read as disrespectful to older audiences. Avoid तू in ads.
  • Decide between Devanagari and Roman-script Hindi (“Ghar jaisa taste”) per audience and test both; Roman Hindi is widely typed, but Devanagari stands out more in a feed and avoids ambiguous spellings.
  • Use Western digits for prices (₹299); Devanagari numerals (२९९) are correct but less familiar to many readers for prices.
  • Write from scratch rather than translating English copy. Literal translations produce stiff, Sanskritised words (e.g. “उपलब्धता”) where people would say “मिलता है”.
  • Hindi uses the पूर्ण विराम (।) to end sentences; mixing it with English full stops in the same ad looks careless, so pick one.

Length and rendering

Devanagari syllables are often built from several Unicode code points (a consonant, a vowel sign, a virama for conjuncts, a nukta or anusvara). A word that looks four letters long may be counted as six or more characters by a code-point counter, so Hindi copy can look shorter on screen than its count suggests. Treat Meta's recommended lengths as guidance and check truncation in the ad preview.

Questions

Should Hindi ads be in Devanagari or Roman script?
Both are used widely. Devanagari is unambiguous and stands out in an English-heavy feed; Roman-script Hindi matches how many people type in chats. Run both as separate variants for the same audience and let results decide rather than assuming.
Is Hinglish acceptable in ads, or does it look unprofessional?
For most consumer categories Hinglish reads as natural, because it is how many people speak. Keep the grammar Hindi and borrow English only for words people genuinely use in English, such as product types, sizes or payment options. For formal categories like insurance or government-adjacent services, a cleaner Hindi register may fit better.
Can I just translate my English ads into Hindi?
Machine or literal translation tends to produce formal, bookish Hindi that few people use. Use the English ad as a brief, then write the Hindi version around how your customer would describe the product out loud, and have a native speaker review it before it runs.
