Marathi ad copy generator · मराठी

Marathi shares the Devanagari script with Hindi but has its own grammar, vocabulary and spellings, so Hindi copy cannot simply be reused for Maharashtra. Marathi ads can reach Mumbai and Pune as well as smaller cities across the state, and festivals like Ganeshotsav, Navratri and Diwali drive strong seasonal demand.

Writing Marathi ads that read naturally

  • Don't reuse Hindi copy with small edits; Marathi verb endings, postpositions and common words are different, and readers notice immediately.
  • Use तुम्ही and polite verb forms when addressing customers; तू is too familiar for most brands.
  • Marathi uses the full stop (.) rather than the Hindi पूर्ण विराम (।) to end sentences.
  • Marathi uses some letters and marks less common in Hindi, such as ळ and the candra in English loanwords (बॅग, ऑफर); make sure your fonts and tools render them.
  • Devanagari digits (५ ते १०) are common in Marathi print, while Western digits are widely used for prices online; pick one style and stay consistent within an ad.
  • Mumbai, Pune, Vidarbha and Marathwada have different spoken flavours; keep base copy in standard Marathi and test local flavour separately.

Length and rendering

Like Hindi, Marathi in Devanagari often uses several Unicode code points per visible syllable, especially in conjuncts and with vowel signs, so counters may show more characters than you expect. Meta's recommended lengths are guidance on truncation, not strict limits; check the ad preview on mobile.

Questions

Can I use my Hindi ads for Maharashtra?
Many people in Maharashtra understand Hindi, but Marathi ads signal that the brand is speaking to them specifically. Because the script is the same, Hindi copy can look like Marathi at a glance yet read wrongly, so write Marathi copy separately and have a native speaker check it.
Is Marathi worth it if I mostly sell in Mumbai and Pune?
Often yes. Mumbai and Pune audiences are multilingual, so English and Hindi still work, but a Marathi variant is a useful test there, and it matters more as you expand to cities like Nashik, Nagpur, Aurangabad and Kolhapur.
Which seasonal moments matter for Marathi campaigns?
Gudi Padwa, Ganeshotsav, Navratri and Diwali are major moments, along with the wedding season. Plan creatives in advance and use seasonal references that are specific to Maharashtra, such as Ganeshotsav, rather than generic pan-India greetings.
